Characteristics:
DINITROL 6010 Super Soft Putty is a 2-c filler putty with a polyester basis.
Applications:
It is suitable for repairing dents from vehicle bodywork, sheet metal, to strip machine casing, glass fibre reinforced plastics repairs, in addition to touching up cement, brickwork, wooden plates, etc.
Dents with up to 10 mm depth can be levelled out on vertical surfaces in one step. DINITROL 6010 Super Soft Putty adheres to practically every substrate in the vehicle industry, i.e. sheet steel, primers, 2-c filler and matt burnished covering coats. It does not adhere directly to zinc coated
sheets.
DINITROL 6010 Super Soft Putty is not suitable for use on thermoplastic lacquers, given the risk of crack formation and poor adhesion. Concerning aluminium, a test should be carried out on the material first, as the product may display varying adhesive strength depending on the alloy.
Pre-treatment:
Thermoplastic paintwork: Sand and buff substrate and clean well i.e. with silicone remover. The substrate must be dry and in good condition, free from grease, mill scale and rust. 2-c lacquers: Matt burnish and remove dust and grease. Uncoated sheets: File and clean.
Method of Use:
DINITROL 6010 Super Soft Putty is mixed carefully with 2 − 3% hardening paste. Depending on temperature and amount of hardener, the working time is 5 − 6 minutes. Thicker layers should be applied in several steps, each after allowing the previous layer to harden completely in order to avoid overheating as the putty hardens. After approx. 20 minutes, the putty is hard enough to file. Any open pours can be closed using fine putty or polyester spray filler. When restoring wood, all old lacquer and paints must be removed. An adhesion test must be carried out before applying to impregnated wood.
